Danube Tower

At over 820 feet tall, the Danube Tower (Donauturm) is the tallest structure in Vienna. From its observation deck you can enjoy panoramic views over the city. It also has a revolving restaurant.

Located in the Danube Park on the northern banks of the river, the Danube Tower, or Donauturm, is the tallest building in Vienna at over 820 feet (2523 m) tall. From its observation deck, you can enjoy panoramic views over the city.

Opened in 1964, the tower not only offers viewing decks but also has a rotating restaurant, where you can enjoy a delicious meal while admiring 360º views of the Austrian capital. The Donauturm has recently been updated with the latest technology and boasts two high-speed elevators to reach its highest points, while also being restored to the vintage decor of the sixties.

The tower is located in the beautiful Danube Park, a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a sunny day with friends.

Located in the Danube Park on the north bank of the river, the Danube Tower (Donauturm) is a 252-metre-high (826 ft) structure from which you can look out over much of the city of Vienna.

Opened in 1964, the tower is not only a lookout point but also a place to relax in the revolving restaurant while the views are constantly changing.

As with the Macau Tower, the more adventurous can bungee jump from the top of the tower, a great way to get their adrenaline pumping.

Not the Best View

Despite the height of the Danube Tower, the views from the observation deck are not great, as it's a bit far from the city centre. Another drawback is that it takes a long time to get there, as you need to take the bus and/or metro.

If you want to see the city from above, we think it's a better idea to climb the tower of Vienna Cathedral.
